Avion Solutions’ employee-led giving fund, Avion Takes Action, has awarded $15,000 in grants to three local nonprofits organizations — Hope Autism Clinic, the Huntsville Assistance Program, and the Boys and Girls Club of North Alabama. These grants will support children and families in need in the Greater Huntsville area.
Hope Autism Clinic, which provides evidence-based therapy for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will use the $5,000 grant to build a Sensory Adaptive Playground where the children can learn and play safely. The Huntsville Assistance Program, which provides temporary emergency relief to families who are at risk of losing housing or utilities, among other things, will use the $5,000 grant to support 25 under-resourced families. Boy and Girls Club, which provides a safe place for at-risk children and helps them achieve healthy lifestyles and academic success, will use the $5,000 grant to cover a years’ worth of robotics and 3D modeling supplies for their STEM Career Pathways Program, offering engineering opportunities to underprivileged kids.
Funded entirely by employee contributions, Avion Takes Action supports nonprofit organizations in the local communities of Avion’s Employee Owners. The fund accepts grant applications on a rolling basis throughout the year and makes awards each quarter.
