Avion Takes Action: Spring Grant Cycle Empowers Local Nonprofits

As part of our employee owner’s ongoing commitment to building stronger communities through employee-led giving, we are proud to announce the recipients of the Spring 2025 Avion Takes Action grant cycle. Each of the six nonprofit organizations selected will receive a $5,000 grant to further their missions and serve individuals and families in need.

These grants are made possible through the Avion Takes Action initiative, which is entirely employee-led and employee-funded.

Spring 2025 Grant Recipients:

Food Bank of North Alabama
A $5,000 grant will help expand the Food Bank’s capacity to safely store and transport food. The funds will be used in partnership with agency collaborators to purchase refrigerators, freezers, and trailers, ensuring that families across North Alabama have access to nutritious meals.

Free 2 Teach
Serving public school teachers in Madison and Limestone Counties, Free 2 Teach will use their $5,000 grant to purchase vital classroom supplies. This support helps bridge funding gaps and empowers educators in all five public school systems to better serve their students.

Downtown Rescue Mission
With a $5,000 grant, Downtown Rescue Mission will furnish bedrooms to ensure every client has access to a safe and comfortable sleeping space, supporting the organization’s mission to restore hope and dignity to individuals facing homelessness.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Texas Coastal Bend
This grant will support the organization’s mentoring services by funding the recruitment, screening, and training of new volunteer mentors. These one-on-one relationships play a critical role in shaping positive outcomes for youth across the region.

Huntsville Assistance Program
A $5,000 grant will help at least 25 families and individuals navigate emergencies by covering critical needs such as groceries, utility bills, rent, or mortgage payments. This direct assistance provides immediate relief and a path toward stability.

Still Serving Veterans
This grant will support the Veterans Support Network Program, which offers financial relief and long-term stability to Veterans in crisis. The funds will help provide grocery gift cards, pay utility bills, or cover rent and deposits to help Veterans secure safe housing.

Each of these organizations is doing vital work to uplift individuals in their communities, and Avion is honored to support their efforts. By empowering nonprofits through direct financial contributions, Avion Takes Action continues to turn employee generosity into meaningful impact.
