Avion Solutions, a 100% employee-owned defense contractor headquartered in Huntsville, recently awarded $35,000 in grants to seven nonprofit organizations through Avion Takes Action, the company’s employee-led charitable giving initiative.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, Avion Takes Action has contributed more than $440,000 to charitable causes, reflecting the collective generosity and commitment to service of Avion’s employee-owners. The program is funded entirely through employee donations, with grants awarded to organizations making a meaningful difference in their communities.
The fall 2026 grant recipients, each receiving $5,000, include:
- Downtown Rescue Mission: Providing food and essential sleeping supplies for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Enable Madison County: Building and installing accessibility ramps for seniors and individuals with limited mobility.
- HEALS, Inc.: Supporting the establishment of a new school-based medical clinic at Sonnie Hereford Elementary School.
- Manna House: Purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables to improve nutrition and wellness for families in need.
- Ronald McDonald House Charities South Texas: Providing accommodations for families with hospitalized children through the Share-A-Night Program.
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace: Building and delivering 15 beds to children in need throughout Huntsville.
- Still Serving Veterans: Providing emergency financial assistance to North Alabama veterans facing unexpected hardships.
