The 2025 Space & Missile Defense (SMD) Symposium proved once again why it remains a cornerstone event for the defense community. This year’s record attendance (over 9,000 people!) brought government leaders, industry partners, and innovators from across the nation to Huntsville, and Avion was proud to a part of the action.

Attendees stopped by to learn more about Avion’s expanding capabilities in Missile Defense, Hypersonics, and Directed Energy – areas where our teams are delivering critical expertise in support of national defense. With subject matter experts and senior program managers on-site, we were able to highlight not only our aviation legacy but also the breadth of technical services Avion provides.

The Symposium offered a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with current customers, reconnect with long-time colleagues, and begin new conversations with potential partners.

The Symposium highlighted the value that service-oriented companies like Avion bring to the mission. While traditional hardware and product development companies remain vital, this year’s Symposium underscored the demand for agile, innovative service support—and Avion is ready to meet that need.

As SMD continues to grow, we see it as a “must-attend” event for industry collaboration, government engagement, and community building. Looking forward, Avion is committed to elevating our presence even further, from showcasing more specific capabilities to creating easier pathways for job seekers interested in joining our team.
