“It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that the work we do supports our customers in achieving such advancements,” shared one of our leading Missiles and Space experts and Senior Program Managers. “Being part of something that directly strengthens our nation’s defense is a responsibility and an honor we don’t take lightly. These tests represent the culmination of years of innovation, collaboration, and unwavering commitment from so many individuals and teams. Knowing we’ve supported our customers in advancing these critical capabilities fills us with immense pride and reinforces the purpose behind what we do every day.”

Advancing the Defense of Guam
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) successfully conducted a live intercept of a ballistic missile target from Guam—an unprecedented milestone. Designated as the Flight Experiment Mission-02 (FEM-02), the experiment marked a critical step forward in developing the future Guam Defense System (GDS). As a strategic location, Guam plays a vital role in sustaining U.S. military presence, deterring adversaries, and maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

FEM-02 represents the MDA’s long-term initiative to protect Guam and regional forces. The data gathered during this test will contribute to the development, installation, and operation of a persistent, layered, and integrated air and missile defense capability. Avion’s support ensured our customers could focus on these critical objectives with confidence.

Pushing the Boundaries of Hypersonic Capabilities
In a separate test, the U.S. Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO, the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), and the U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) successfully conducted a flight test of a conventional hypersonic missile from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida. This was the first live-fire event for the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon system using a Battery Operations Center and a Transporter Erector Launcher.

The test is a major step toward the first Army operational deployment of the common hypersonic All Up Round (AUR), a system that represents a game-changing capability in modern warfare. Avion’s employee-owners were honored to support our customers in meeting critical mission priorities.

Looking Ahead
Avion Solutions remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting our government customers in advancing cutting-edge initiatives. These successful tests not only highlight the skill and dedication of our employee-owners but also reaffirm our collective mission to provide innovation that matters and experience the Warfighter can trust.
