Avion Takes Action, the employee-led giving fund of Avion Solutions, has awarded $20,500 in grants to four non-profit organizations in its most recent quarterly cycle of funding: The CARE Center, Kids to Love – KTECH, Free 2 Teach Foundation, and The Care Service.
The CARE Center, which supports under-resourced families, will use the $5,000 grant to provide weekend meals, or Bags of Blessings, for 135 food-insecure students throughout the coming school year. KTECH is a Kids to Love Foundation workforce initiative, which offers specialized training and credentialling for high-demand occupations, including Mechatronics, Robotics, Soldering, and Virtual Reality. With the $5,500 grant, Avion’s employee owners provide a full scholarship for one student to enroll in the next class in August. Free 2 Teach, which provides free resources to public school teachers, will use the $5,000 grant to buy school supplies for ten local teachers this coming school year, improving the educational experience of children in Madison County. The Care Service, whose mission is to serve those in crisis and to prevent homelessness and hunger, will use the $5,000 grant to provide meals for vulnerable families in the tri-county area surrounding St. Louis, Missouri.
Funded entirely by employee contributions, Avion Takes Action supports non-profit organizations in the local communities of Avion’s Employee Owners. The fund accepts grant applications on a rolling basis throughout the year and makes awards each quarter.
